I am a Professor at the Institute of Sociology and Social Psychology at the University of Cologne, where I hold the Chair for Methods of Empirical Social Research.
Before coming to Cologne I was an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Social and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Amsterdam. I completed a PhD at the University of Bamberg and a Max Weber Postdoctoral Fellowship at the European University Institute.
My interests are in social demography, family relations, and life course research.
